Privacy policy

Alpha DPF Monitor is designed to work locally on your iPhone. It does not require an account and does not send vehicle data to servers managed by the developer.

1. Controller and contact

The person responsible for the app is Eddy Tamburi. For privacy questions, email tamburiukeddy+alphadpf@gmail.com.

2. Data processed by the app

When you connect an OBD-II adapter, the app processes technical data supplied by the vehicle’s ECU, such as filter load, exhaust temperature, regeneration progress and history. These values are displayed on the device and are not transmitted to the developer.

Bluetooth connection preferences are stored locally in the app. The diagnostic log and session samples remain in memory and are deleted when the app is terminated.

3. System permissions

  • Bluetooth: to communicate with Bluetooth Low Energy OBD-II adapters.
  • Notifications: to signal the start and end of a regeneration.
  • Live Activity: to display DPF status on the Lock Screen and other iOS surfaces that support it.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Some features will not be available without the relevant permission.

4. Data not collected

The app does not use advertising, analytics, advertising identifiers, tracking, cookies, accounts, cloud services or third-party SDKs. It does not collect names, email addresses, location, contacts, payment details or browsing history.

5. Retention and deletion

The developer does not store personal or vehicle data on servers. Local preferences remain on the iPhone until they are changed or the app is uninstalled. iOS may temporarily retain notifications and Live Activities according to the user’s settings.

6. Children

Alpha DPF Monitor is a technical tool intended for drivers and vehicle owners and is not specifically directed at children. The app does not knowingly collect children’s personal data.

7. Security and limitations

OBD communication takes place directly between the iPhone and the adapter via Bluetooth Low Energy. The effective security of the connection also depends on the adapter used.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated if the app’s features or applicable requirements change. The latest revision date will always appear at the top of this page.
